A CHARITY which trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds is urgently calling on volunteers in South Warwickshire to join a fundraising campaign.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People holds The Paws Appeal bucket drives during Deaf Awareness Week (May 2-8) and runs throughout the month.
Jan Shally, volunteer puppy trainer for the charity, said: “I jumped at the chance to help with a fundraiser because I want to give back and raise money to help deaf people.
“Hearing dogs can help deaf people enter another world – one in which they too can feel heard.”
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People relies on donations to continue helping deaf people and they have seen an increase in the number of people coming to them for help over the past two years.
The charity is urging volunteers to donate two hours of their time to Paws Appeal to help raise much-needed funds to train life-changing hearing dogs and provide more services for anyone with hearing loss.
Vicky Ryan, Community Fundraising Manager, said: “Our friendly team will make sure you have everything you need to raise funds safely for us. By participating in our Paws Appeal, you will help us raise vital funds to ensure that no one with hearing loss feels alone.
