“I’m the father of four Miami alums, so I know firsthand the value of a Miami education,” he said.

“I also know that for many deserving students, college is increasingly out of reach. The scholarships help make college an option for students who may need additional support and thanks to the generosity of the Miami community – and our team’s commitment to the college’s mission – more students will have this opportunity thanks to the success of this year’s fundraiser. .”

The university is the largest employer in Butler County and has approximately 20,000 enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.

Miami also operates regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown and a learning center in West Chester Twp.

The school raised more than $98.7 million in new donations and pledges from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, surpassing its previous record of $98.5 million achieved in fiscal year 2017.

Fundraising for scholarships totaled $46.8 million.

The recently completed fiscal year also saw the school raise $45.5 million in cash donations, which exceeded the fiscal year goal of $30 million.

The overall setback of the COVID-19 pandemic from scheduling and the other havoc the virus has wreaked on Miami operations in 2020-21 and the early part of the 2021-22 school year has been attributed as a factor major in Miami’s record total.

“In addition to a record year of fundraising, fiscal 2022 also marked a return to normal levels of alumni engagement. Miamians turned out in pre-COVID numbers for events such as the “ MIAMI WOMEN” “Hawk Tank” and “Leadership Symposium,” “Alumni Weekend” and “Grandparents College,” Bundy said.
