Hyderabad: The city’s hospice, Sparsh Hospice, is hosting its annual “Sparsh Nite” fundraising party on August 26, Sparsh Hospice chairman and trustee Prabhakar Dhulipudi said on Wednesday.
The fundraising event will feature a play ‘Blame it on Yashraj’, a Bollywood musical about an Indian family caught in the whirlwind of a marriage. Proceeds from the event will be used to provide free palliative care facilities to terminally ill patients. So far, Sparsh Hospice has provided free palliative care services to over 5,000 terminally ill patients.
Developed on 1.2 acres of land in Khajaguda, which was donated by the state government, the Sparsh Hospice has 82 beds including 10 pediatric beds and home care services. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated in 2021 by the Minister of IT, KT Rama Rao.
The hospice building was established with a cost of Rs. 15 crore and the funding was achieved by raising funds from philanthropists, businesses, CSRs, individuals, volunteers and team members , said Prabhakar Dhulipudi. For more details: www.sparshhospice.org
