St Pauls swaps basketballs with golf balls for classic fundraiser in memory of the late Connie Brosnan

St Pauls will swap their basketballs for orbs of a smaller version when they host their Golf Classic at Beaufort Golf Club on Friday 20 May. With a thriving Academy, boys and girls, adult teams and of course the National Finance League Project, the Golf Classic is an essential tool to help fund the running of the club.

his Classic of the Year will be held in memory of the late Connie Brosnan. Connie, who died in March 2020, was a mainstay at St Pauls, serving as a team leader in the 1990s for the team, looking after all the team’s needs and most recently was the welcoming officer and Friendly of Killarney Sports and Leisure. Center.

Connie’s affable nature led to many friendships and he was, of course, an avid and avid golfer, so it’s fitting and appropriate that his memory be associated with the Classic. He was a key figure as chairman of the Kerry branch of the Irish Kidney Association and, having received a kidney donation himself, he also represented Ireland in golf at the World Transplant Games in 2010 and 2017.

The event itself, which takes place on the scenic and pristine Beaufort course, is open to teams of four for the great value of €250 per team and a well-deserved meal provided afterwards. Your support would therefore be welcome and even if golf is not your game, you can also sponsor a tee box for the day. Vouchers to play some of Munster’s best courses are in sight if you pass the draw as well as other great prizes.
